We'd love to get to know you better. Take a moment to say hi to the community in the comments.
Hello,
My name is Robert Bradley. It's good to be a part of the forum, even though this is a notification test.
As a resident, I am very interested in the economic development of Bond Hill. As an entrepreneur and researcher, I was excited about seeing how I can lend my skills in a real and substantial way to revitalizing our business district.
As the Member-at-Large, I understand that one of my responsibilities will be to possibly chair a committee and, although I see that there is a Bond Hill Residential Revitalization committee, I am curious if we might pursue creating an entire redevelopment foundation that could include helping the community to create a vision for our entire community; both residential and business and help our entire neighborhood to come together and infuse new life into Bond Hill. I am extremely excited about being a liaison with the residents of Bond Hill.
It has always been my experience that the more that people feel seen and heard and can engage in dialogue together, the more excited people are about working to build a shared vision. So, here are some of my initial thoughts about what I envision to revitalize Bond Hill and I want to hear about others’ visions. Please do not take my ideas as any criticism of the amazing and hard work that everyone is doing in Bond Hill now.
I am sharing my ideas to add to and illicit more conversations and visions from others as well as generate dialogue about what can and cannot be done and what needs to happen to make our dreams a reality:
● Frequent, visible, friendly, and supportive security
● A Bond Hill community development foundation
● A wellness center with medical, mental, & nontraditional care
● Make our community center for families who work 9am to 5pm
● A library in our community that people can easily walk to
● A store with fresh food that people can easily walk to
● A law firm
● A store with household and daily needs we can walk to
● Senior enrichment opportunities
● A place that provides job readiness
● A Black cultural center
● More green spaces
● Education about climate change in urban neighborhoods
My name is Nzingha Dalila (pronounced “In-zing-gah Dah-lee-la”). I have lived on and off in the Bond Hill Community since I was in junior high school. e. I started my own virtual company, Noetikha Wellness in 2012. I hold a doctorate in Counseling Education and I work at the University of Cincinnati in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience as a Clinical Counselor and Clinical Instructor.
I have spent most of my adult life committed to improving the welfare of individuals and families. I am also passionate about recognizing and celebrating cultural diversity. I have discovered, from my research and practice, that recognizing, educating, and embracing cultural diversity is an important element of nurturing individuals and families in a community to thrive and be successful.
I serve the Bond Hill community as the Member-at Large. As the Member-at-Large, one of my responsibilities is to participate in creative and strategic planning and to engage with BHCC Board members and community stakeholders and build a positive networking relationship. I think that a lot of my ideas and visions for the community embrace this spirit
